St. Andrew’s Middle School is a small, structured and supportive program for both typical and non-typical learners. Faculty work with students on academic content at the same time they are developing their study skills and organizational strategies. As a result, students work to become independent learners, increase their sense of self-esteem, and gain confidence in their abilities. We work with every student so that they may develop as effective communicators, critical thinkers, efficient workers and strong community members.
The Middle School utilizes a team-based approach that assigns a humanities teacher, a math/science teacher and a learning services teacher to each grade. This collaboration is enhanced by a flexible block schedule that allows our teachers to integrate both content and skills in every class. The morning is reserved for English, history, science and math, while the afternoon is scheduled for arts, physical education and computer training.
There is no question when you visit our picturesque campus and take a walk throughout the Middle School in Hardy Hall, you will experience firsthand our dynamic and student-centered learning environment. This approach reflects St. Andrew’s strong conviction that the middle school years can be a time for extraordinary learning. As a result, our Middle School provides each child the structure and support he or she needs to be confident and successful. No one is "caught in the middle" in St. Andrew's School!
