St. Andrew’s enhanced the college counseling process by including a comprehensive online resource, Family Connection. It is a Web site that students and their families can use to make plans about colleges and careers. Family Connection is linked with Naviance, a service that St. Andrew's uses to manage the application process. It also allows the tracking and analyzing of data about college and career plans, so it provides up-to-date information that is specific to the School and students.
The College Counseling office at St. Andrew's School assists each student with the college admissions process. As students progress through the Upper School, the College Counseling office becomes increasingly involved, and we take pride in our extensive and highly personalized approach. Appointments can be scheduled with the Director of College Counseling anytime during the year. We are a resource, and we provide the tools that can help students and families navigate through their college search. The interests, abilities and desires of each student assist our guidance as we seek to generate realistic and inspiring opportunities for our students. Successful college placement is our final goal, and we strive to help each student select a college or university in which they will thrive.
Family Connection allows St. Andrew's student to:
• Get involved in the planning and advising process – Build a resume, complete online surveys, and manage timelines and deadlines for making decisions about their future.
• Prepare for Standardized Tests- tailored, online test preparation for the SAT and the ACT is available through the Prep Me portal.
• Research colleges – Compare GPA, standardized test scores, and other statistics to actual historical data from St. Andrew's students who have applied and been admitted in the past
• Research careers – Research hundreds of careers and career clusters, and take career assessments
Family Connection also lets us share information with you about upcoming meetings, college representatives visiting campus, events, local scholarship opportunities, and other resources for college and career information.
