Partners in Education
Our donors are as different as the programs they support. Many donors prefer to designate their gifts to something tangible –bricks and mortar, supporting our beautiful grounds and buildings. Others prefer to support essential programs important to a well rounded St. Andrew’s education; programs like the arts, athletics, sciences, or technology. Then there are donors who wish to make our vibrant academic programs and peaceful campus available for a young person in need; these are our Partners in Education.
Since 1893, financial aid at St. Andrew’s has been a cornerstone of our mission. We offer a generous, need-based financial aid program resulting in strong social and economic diversity throughout our community. This year alone, more than 50% of our students were granted financial assistance with many students benefiting from ‘Partners in Education,’ a program inaugurated in 2009.
A Partner in Education is a donor who is willing to pledge a substantial amount to the School’s Financial Aid program for a period of at least four years. Their financial commitment is matched with funds from the School’s Endowment for Scholarships, along with other funds, allowing the School to open its doors to additional students in need.
Commitments to this program have made funding possible for over ten students. These young people have shared with us their moving life stories and we hope that St. Andrew’s will be their first step to discovering themselves as life long learners. Aware of the individual lives they have touched with their generosity, our Partners in Education have become special members of our extraordinary community.
We are grateful for our Partners in Education and the students they support. By providing funds for financial aid, they bring new faces to campus that foster new friendships, offer new perspectives, and strengthen our community.
