Annual Fundraiser
for Student Financial Aid
Saturday, May 18, 2013
Over 120 years ago, the Reverend William Merrick Chapin came across a homeless boy who was begging at the Providence train station. Without hesitation, he took the boy in and founded St. Andrew’s School. Decades later, the school has helped hundreds of young people in need of a nurturing, stable environment in which to live and study.
Like Father Chapin and St. Andrew’s School, there are many devoted people who make a difference for children. With our event partner, East Bay Newspapers, we present the Shining Star Honor to individuals from our local communities who have, through generosity of spirit, changed the lives and given opportunity to children.
St. Andrew’s serves students who have a defined learning disability, have come from socio-economic struggles, and those who have experienced high academic pressures from public and other private schools. Currently, 50% of our students receive need-based financial aid.
Thank you for your support!
This year we raise $140,000 toward our Financial Aid Program

Nominees for the Shining Star Honor are presented by editors of East Bay Newspapers and friends of St. Andrew’s School.
