| | Welcome from the Head of School Discover your path to success. Sometimes people think small schools are limited in terms of curriculum, athletic options, and social activities. We don’t believe this has to be the case. At St. Andrew’s we have created a community that is small, but encompasses the world. Our students come from a wide variety of ethnic, cultural, religious, and socioeconomic backgrounds. They may come from Providence, New York, Seoul, Boston, Jamaica, Cape Cod, California, Connecticut, or Taipei. When they arrive here, they find that opportunities open before them in ways they had never imagined. Parents have told me about their children, hard-core athletes, becoming interested in the arts. Often, students who have never played a sport, discover lacrosse or tennis or cross-country and find a lifelong passion. And many students who have struggled in conventional classrooms discover an affinity for theatre—and a gateway to the world of literature or history via this art form. Academically, our students have numerous options to explore a college preparatory curriculum paced according to their needs. Our dedicated and caring teachers take the time to ensure that students understand the process of learning and the skills needed to succeed in the various disciplines. Specifically because it is a small school, students can delve into their special interests and become expert in areas as diverse as animation, writing, or environmental science. The pre-teen and teenage years are a time of exploration. Of finding out that you can make a difference in the world. About discovering yourself and your own path to success. As you explore our website, I know you’ll discover that St. Andrew’s is a place that provides many options suited to the uniqueness of each student. Welcome to St. Andrew’s!
