| | | Q. | What kinds of students attend St. Andrew’s? | | A. | We seek college-bound students who are motivated to succeed in school. Although we offer highly effective programs for students with varying learning styles, more than 70% of our Upper School students do not need any of our language-based programs. They have all decided to attend St. Andrew’s for a variety of important reasons, including small class sizes (7 – 12 students in a class), myriad course offerings, and the experience of learning in a Schools Attuned setting—an environment that focuses on the process of learning and developing individual strengths. |
 | Q. | Do students participate in extracurricular activities? | | A. | Yes. All students are required to participate in three extracurricular activities per year. Two of these activities must be “athletic in nature.” Students can choose from a variety of teams and clubs. |
 | Q. | What is the average class size? | | A. | Our Upper School classes range in size from 7 – 12 students with an average of 10 students per class. Our Lower School classes have a capacity of 10 students and our Middle School grades max out at 12 students per grade.

 | Q. | What do you consider to be your strengths? | | A. | At St. Andrew’s, the faculty and staff take great pride in making our school a welcoming environment that promotes students’ academic success and personal growth. Our small class sizes and strong belief in the Schools Attuned Program ensures that we do our best to meet the individual educational needs of our students. The diversity on campus and exposure to different cultures, faiths, races, and talents help our students acquire a clear understanding of who they are and who their fellow men are. |
 | Q. | What resources do you offer for candidates with mild language-based learning differences? | | A. | Learning profiles, individualized educational plans (IEPs), and specialized coursework are designed by a Rhode Island state certified Special Education or Resource teacher under the leadership of Dr. Dana Gurney. Our Wilson reading program, offered to students with a Dyslexia diagnosis, and our Literacy program, designed to improve writing skills, are two of the successful programs at St. Andrew’s. We also have a Focus program to help candidates who are diagnosed with ADHD or Executive Functioning Disorder. |
