After-School Sports and Activities

Middle School
St. Andrew's Middle School offers a physical fitness-oriented physical education curriculum with an emphasis on establishing a healthy lifestyle. Offered within the school day, each class begins with a fitness cycle and stations, emphasizing cardiovascular conditioning. We also take time to teach our students proper stretching and warming up techniques. The class also places an emphasis on team sports, along with group-building activities. Finally, we meet or exceed the State of Rhode Island requirement of 100 minutes per week of physical education and health class.

Upper School
St. Andrew’s School’s Upper School Activity and Athletics program meets or exceeds State of Rhode Island requirements for physical education; therefore attendance is taken and students are graded as in any other class. Rhode Island requires four years of physical education for high school students. All St. Andrew’s students are required to participate in an afternoon activity or athletic program for all three seasons; students must choose a physical activity at least two out of the three seasons.
