Because St. Andrew’s is a day and boarding school, campus life goes on 24/7. Our goal is to provide a homelike environment for all of our students. Many day students arrive early to eat breakfast in the Dining Hall, while others stay for dinner and to study with friends in the Library. Day students often join boarders at weekend brunch, on weekend excursions to cultural events in Providence or Boston, or just for an impromptu frisbee game on the Quad. Boarders join local friends at their homes for cookouts and pool parties. Athletic events, plays, and concerts are typically scheduled on weekends; art studios are often available for students to use; and often movies are shown in the McCulloch Center for the Arts. The new Fitness Center offers expanded free weights and circuit-training opportunities for students.
More than 60% of St. Andrew’s faculty live on campus, allowing students to take advantage of after-school hours to get extra help. Some faculty members host movie parties or cookie-baking events in their homes.
In addition to School activities, the St. Andrew’s Parent Association (SAPA) hosts on- and off-campus activities for students and their families. Typical activities have included canoe trips, laser-tag parties, and dances with other independent schools.
There’s a lot to do—every day of the week!
