About Giving to St. Andrew's

Throughout much of its history, most students at St. Andrew’s were the recipients of the philanthropic interests of well-known New England benefactors who believed strongly in the mission of the School.

Today, the School’s base of donors has broadened widely to include not only friends of the School, but also parents, alumni, grandparents, corporations, foundations, and others.

A St. Andrew’s education today includes a student to faculty ratio of 5:1, fewer than 230 students on a 100 acre campus, and facilities that rival many small colleges. It is part of our teaching philosophy that students learn best in a small, intimate setting that allows for personal attention. Everyone – students, faculty, and administrators – is committed to the idea that individualized teaching can transform students’ learning strengths into classroom success. All of our teachers have undergone intensive training in the Schools Attuned program, which helps them identify and teach to the many types of learners in a classroom.

Maintaining these attributes is not inexpensive, so it is only through the benevolence of our donors that St. Andrew’s can continue to offer its unique form of education to a student body of which 40% receive some form of financial aid.

To put it simply, giving to the Annual Fund and Capital Campaigns of the School is a tradition for all our family members – without your participation, St. Andrew’s cannot continue to be the same School that attracted you to it in the first place.

We hope that you will respond with understanding, enthusiasm, and generosity when asked to participate in St. Andrew’s most important tradition.
