 | | Each student is assigned a faculty adviser to assist him/her in making the best possible adjustment to school life. The faculty has described the good adviser as “an artistic blend of mentor, role model, police person, uncle/aunt, friendly shoulder, and spine stiffener.” The adviser’s primary function is to help the student learn. This involves assisting in goal-setting, self-monitoring, and developing strategies to become active learners. Advisers frequently call parents to discuss their child’s progress. After completing their first year at St. Andrew’s, students are given the opportunity to request a particular adviser. |
