St. Andrew's School is pleased to announce the appointment of David Bourk as the school's new Director of Spiritual Life. Through Mr. Bourk's leadership the following are new options being offered to students this year: Shared Sacred Spaces
Scheduled opportunities for the community to listen to a speaker from a particular major religion or organization followed by a short Q&A session when appropriate.
An opportunity for community members to dive deeply into the foundational theology that served as a motivation for the school's origin. In these discussions, the goal is for participants to gain a greater sense of spiritual balance by understanding their own faith or non-faith position(s) while using the Episcopal heritage as the touch point.
M & Ms
Movies and Morals is a low-stakes, high-engagement way of realizing the pervasiveness of morality in "everyday life" by viewing films and then discussing them. Students will have two weeks to view the film and then meet to discuss various moral and spiritual aspects that impacted them. Each discussion will be intended to center around a particular virtue or value which will be discussed and qualified before, during and after the discussion. All the while loads of M&M's will be consumed.
