Happy White Visiting Artist - Brooke Erin Goldstein

St. Andrew's School is pleased to welcome Brooke Erin Goldstein as the 2018 Happy White Visiting Artist. In this role, Ms. Goldstein will work with St. Andrew’s visual arts students September 17 through September 28.
An artist and curator, Ms. Goldstein, lives in Providence, Rhode Island.  She is a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design with a degree in Textiles.  Her work has been exhibited in many galleries as well as the Corcoran Gallery of Art, the New Bedford Art Museum, and the Newport Art Museum. Ms. Goldstein states, “from the moment we are born our relationship with textiles begins. Color, texture and repeating patterns not only cover us but surround us. Fibers are the supporting players of our memories and daily actions. As a textile artist, I use our human connection with fabric to immerse the viewer in an emotional experience. My work utilizes a variety of techniques such as quilting, fabric painting, various textile printing methods, and surface design-based drawing. These tools help me to explore ideas of childhood, relationships and the concept of “Home”.

In addition to working with students, Ms. Goldstein’s work will be on display in Griffiths Gallery located in the McCulloch Center for the Arts.
