Travel immerses students in the lives, stories, and histories of diverse cultures and communities. This fosters empathy, broadens their worldview, and challenges them to see the world through different lenses.

Beyond the traditional classroom setting, travel allows students to actively participate in research projects, engage in hands-on learning experiences, and apply their knowledge in real-world contexts.

Our Signature Travel Programs

Middle School Hulbert Trip

Every fall, St. Andrew's entire Middle School travels to Hulbert Outdoor Center in Fairlee, Vermont for three days of outdoor adventure, learning, and exploration. With the guidance and support of Hulbert's top-notch staff and St. Andrew's faculty, our middle schoolers gain new skills and take creative risks through kayaking, tackling the ropes course, hiking, and more.

Renaissance Florence Arts Honors

This immersive honors course takes grade 12 students deep into the world of Renaissance Florence, uncovering the historical, social, and artistic forces that shaped this extraordinary era. The experience culminates in an unforgettable week in Florence, Italy, where students will stand before masterpieces at the Uffizi, marvel at the Duomo, and engage with history firsthand. This journey will bring their studies to life, deepening their understanding of the cultural and historical forces that shaped the Renaissance.

America's National Parks Science

Offered in the evening in the spring semester, this course is available to students in grades 10-PG. The class investigates the history and future of America’s National Parks with an emphasis on the park(s) that will be visited. The culminating activity for this class is a trip to a National Park which will take place in early April and will be completed from Friday through Wednesday to reduce the amount of missed class time.

March Break Trip

We offer an exciting travel experience for Upper School students during March Break. Past trips have included a Spanish immersion experience in Málaga, Spain, and EF Tours of Paris and The Chateaux and England. These trips allow students to explore the world during a scheduled school vacation break.

Scholarship Opportunities

We believe transformative learning can happen when students explore the world beyond the classroom. Through a growing network of scholarships, we’re working to remove financial barriers so that all students—regardless of background—can access our travel programs. We offer two scholarships every school year for international travel.
