What’s the difference between official and unofficial transcripts?

Unofficial: Unofficial transcripts are meant only for personal or advising purposes. They do not contain the school seal or official signature and should not be accepted by other institutions as proof of enrollment or graduation.

Official: Official transcripts are provided with the school seal and signed by the Registrar. Official transcripts to other institutions require mailing or email address information regarding where to send them to.

Is there a cost to requesting my transcripts?
There is no cost for transcripts.

My new employer needs to verify my enrollment/graduation. How do I do that?
Your employer can contact the Registrar Shelley Peterson by phone at 401-246-1230 ext. 3047 or email at [email protected].

What is an apostille?
Some countries outside the United States require an Apostille on documents, usually diplomas or transcripts. The Registrar can notarize your transcript and obtain an Apostille from the Secretary of State of Rhode Island.

The apostilling of documents is $5 per page requested payable through Facts. Requests for apostilling need to be made to the Registrar at least 2 weeks prior to the end of the school year regardless of student’s return to campus or the student’s graduation.
