Tailored Teaching, Community Bonds

With a class size average of ten students, Upper School students work closely with their teachers to find their own paths to success.

We believe that learning is a process and guide our students to develop the skills that will lead to thoughtful and effective problem-solving in every subject area. Our faculty recognize that each student approaches material in a multitude of ways and at a varied pace. To ensure all of our students achieve the magical click of comprehension, faculty is available for additional support throughout the school week. At St. Andrew’s, our faculty are always more than willing to help students achieve their goals.

In addition to academics, an active engagement and participation in community life is fundamental to a St. Andrew’s education. From our twice-weekly, all-school Morning Meetings, to varied opportunities for community service, to dynamic extracurricular athletics and activity offerings, our students are taught the power of community engagement and giving back. Community is paramount at St. Andrew’s and a visit to our campus will show why our students feel like they are part of a family and why St. Andrew’s has made a difference in their education and their lives.

Our Students

Our Upper School students come to St. Andrew’s from both public and independent schools, searching for new academic adventures, more personal instruction, and greater camaraderie with classmates. Our graduates leave us with both a bedrock education that serves as a fine foundation for college and a set of personal strategies that equip them for a lifetime of continued learning, adaptation, and intellectual evolution. Just as important, our students take from St. Andrew’s a guiding sense of self — an awareness of their own strengths and passions that they use to chart a confident path forward.

And while they prepare for tomorrow, our students love living and learning at St. Andrew’s today. Exciting courses, art classes, athletic opportunities, and special programming keep every student engaged, involved, and enthusiastic about his or her own development. Our energetic residential culture shapes the academic and co-curricular experience for boarding and day students alike by ensuring uncommon access to faculty, strong bonds among students, and an enriching, extended “school day” that lasts long after the dismissal bell.
